Washington: NASA experts have warned about the heat in July, saying that July 2023 could be the hottest three months of the century.
According to the foreign news agency, Gavin Schmidt, NASA’s top climatologist at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, said that a continuous heat wave is engulfing large parts of the planet, which will break several temperature records.
He said that we are seeing amazing changes all over the world. The heat wave in America, Europe and China has broken all previous records.
The NASA expert said that all these indicators are raising concerns about the severity of the climate crisis. The rise in temperature is not surprising as we have seen it rise steadily over the past 4 decades.
He said the Earth had recently endured the warmest June ever, raising concerns about the possibility of 2023 becoming the hottest year overall. What we know through science is that human activities and primarily greenhouse gas emissions are inevitably causing this warming.
Temperatures will likely peak by the end of 2023 and 2024 will be even warmer, Gavin said.
